To me, it seems that the clash will either "Make or Break" the faith of Muslim youth growing up in the rest. | The Don September 10, 2005 04:05 PM PDT I don't think the traditional Islamic ideas of dar al-Islam and dhimmitude can *ever* be fitted with western culture and values. Part of what we have always taken for granted is some kind of a plurality in ideas and so forth, and for the most part, religion and state are relatively separated. Shar'ia (Islamic law) denotes Islam as *the* state, ergo, unless you share in that, you will be considered a second class citizen. | ||
